I purchased with mid grips and regular shaft. Only had the driver for a week but managed to get 2x 9 hole games in with it and 150+ balls on the driving range. After being lucky enough to try many drivers that cost two to five times more than the 801 max over the last year and hitting enough balls with them, I feel I am able too give honest thoughts on this driver. I am a 61 year old mid handicapper with 85+/-mph driver swing. The mid grip felt soft i was worried it would slip in my hands, nope, it didn’t, it is a great grip for my piano hands. The shaft is great quality, I am used to more SR shafts so felt bit strange for first dozen or so swings but after getting used to it i really pleased I chose the regular shaft, it is a great shaft. The head looks great down at the ball, swinging this club feels so natural, I feel I have gained 5 to 10 yards over my old gamer and I appear to be getting practically the same distance as with my sons Taylormade Sim 2, But for sure my dispersion is allot better than with my sons driver. I can say forgiveness is up there, as good as some of the top brands, who am I kidding, forgiveness is really great, i am loving the forgiveness. Has it cured my terrible slice, nope, but so far it appears to have helped greatly, I am getting allot more straighter drives.
